    Hi!

Thank you for the details, unfortunately I was not able to log-in with the username and password combination, it gives me an invalid username/password error. Can you please check that?

    1. Can you please be more specific about this? If you mean you want to enable search within categtories, then this documentation may help.

    2. I am assuming you want to replace the search bar within the site header. If the automatic replacement does not do that, then that search bar is very likely hard coded to the theme header files. You might have to ask the theme author on how to replace it, which files to modify.
If you want, you can add temporary FTP access as well, and I can check that for you. Although I cannot promise I can replace it properly, as it qualifies as a customization, but I will try.

    Hi Pamela,

Thank you for the log-in details, it helped me a lot.

I think I managed to find the file responsible of printing that header search. I have replaced their form, with the search shortcode. The file changed was in the theme folders within the wp-content/themes/kalium/inc/laborator_functions.php. Please make sure to have a copy of it. I used search instance = 4 aka ‘Main search’ for that replacement.
I have also made some adjustments under the Layout Options -> Compact layout panel for better search visibility: https://i.imgur.com/TkhmNpa.png

Please note, that his qualifies as a customization request, so my solution may not work in 100% of the cases.

Thank you for the screenshot, I think you are looking for the front-end filters, this documentation may help you out: Front-end Filters

    Hi Ernest,

Thank you, that was truly really helpful.
Unfortunately I think the search disabled our mobile menu.
I do not have at the moment a copy of the original wp-content/themes/kalium/inc/laborator_functions.php file – I would like to know the code so that I can re-do and Un-do this as needed as we play around with the plugin.
Any idea why the search would disable to mobile menu?
We tried disabling the plugin to recover the mobile menu but it just left us with no search – I assume because the code was deleted to be replaced with ajax search.
Could you please tell me how to put it back for the time being?
    Thank you.

We were able to work around some of the issues. However we would still like to know how to go back to the theme search for the time being.
The way you had it set up was perfect except for the fact that it affected the response on mobile.

    Hi,

    Sure, no problem:
    – Here is a copy of the original
    – And here is a copy of the modified version

The changes were made on lines 900-918, in case you need to debug it. I hope this helps! 🙂

    Perfect,
We were able to set up the search on a way that works with all our needs.
This is truly a great and very flexible plugin.
Thanks again for your time and for taking the time to help us out.
    All the best!
