We are using 2 filters within Ajax Search Pro. The 2 filters are both dropdowns. One is a dropdown of categories, and one is a dropdown of a custom taxonomy. The problem is that both dropdowns show ALL the terms for each of those taxonomies. We only want to show terms that are actually assigned to a post.

Currently, the Category dropdown shows ALL categories, even though half of them aren’t being used yet. Same with the custom taxonomy. It shows ALL of the terms, even though only a few of them are actually assigned to a post. Is there a setting somewhere, so the dropdowns only populate with terms that are actually being used?

    Hi,

If you update to the latest release (4.18.3), then there is a switch right here: https://i.imgur.com/GGHzUVq.png
    That will do the trick.

We’re not showing taxonomy terms like that though. We’re puling from from the entire taxonomy. This way, if/when a new one is added, we don’t need to go into Ajax Search Pro settings and check a new box each time. Given this setup, how would we toggle an option to automatically exclude empty terms?

It would be good if you could push an update that would omit empty terms, when using this sort of setup.

That update does exactly that – it does not matter if you push the whole taxonomy, or one by one, it will omit the empty ones anyways.

That toggle isn’t there for us, when using the “Use all from…” taxonomy. https://i.imgur.com/JSdepAl.png

Or do you mean, if using a dropdown that is set to “Use all from…”, it will now cause the dropdown to hide the terms that don’t have any posts? That would be ideal, but that doesn’t seem to be the case…

We have this page, with 2 dropdown filters. The Category filter is showing ALL categories, even if some of them don’t have any posts in them.

    You cannot access this content.

You have to have the latest release 4.18.3 installed, as I stated before. It is not present in releases before that.
Once you update, the option will appear.

    I understand that. It’s the version I’m on: https://i.imgur.com/wpGB8JX.png and https://i.imgur.com/MShbNOz.png

Then there is something wrong with that, some files may have been corrupted. Please re-download, uninstall and re-install the latest release. Also, please use the WordPress plugin manager to install, instead of uploading via (s)FTP, if possible.

Can you confirm all settings will remain, if I uninstall?
