    Hello,

I am using AJAX Search Pro on this website and it is working well except on mobile devices it does not work. Although you can search, and results are produced, when you click on a result (image) it just cancels the search – it doesn’t take you to the page as it is supposed to.

I have tested it with another theme and the problem is the same.

I have deactivated all plugins and the problem is the same.

I can’t see any error messages.

I can’t see anything in the error log.

    Hi,

May I ask which mobile devices and mobile browsers is this happening on?

I think I can replicate the issue, but not all of the time. In your case does this happen all of the time? For me most of the time it redirects, but sometimes it seems to just close the results. I suspect it has to do something with the isotopic layout only. I will try to investigate this in more depth no on our local servers.

    Hello,

I am using an iPhone 11 Pro Max, which has the problem.

My client is using an iPhone (not sure which model) same problem.

I just tested on an old Samsung (not sure which model) and it worked fine there.

As for all of the time, I”ve only been aware of the issue for a couple of days, but it appears to be constant.

    Huw.

There was a known issue with the previous release specifically with iPhones, but that should be gone with the most recent one (4.20.5). However I have actually managed to find a different issue – which mainly appears when there is a text beneath the results list, and only sometimes happens on android phones.
Apple’s Safari is generally much worse to debug, in many cases it behaves much worse as the other webkit browsers, which causes a lot of issues when trying to get the event handling right. Hopefully I have indentified this problem correctly, I will try to push an update later today to address that.

    Hello Ernesto,

I have updated to version 4.20.6 but the problem is still persisting on my iPhone 11. After searching, i get thumbnails of images, and when I tap one, it closes down all of the images but doesn’t navigate to the selected page.

    Regards,
    Huw.

    Hi Huw,

Can you please make sure to clear all layers of your site cache, as well as the phone cache? I had a confirmation from other users, that it is working. It seems to work on our test iPhones and on virtualized ones as well. Thank you!

    Hello Ernesto,

Went to check again today and it wasn’t necessary to clear the cache – everything is now working. Thanks for your assistance with this. We love the search plugin. Let me know if I can leave a review for you somewhere.

    Cheers,
    Huw.
