Hi Ernest,
I understand from your documentation that I can’t use the built-in search events tracking if I use GTM to implement UA/GA4, but that’s a non-negotiable for our site so I can’t use the built-in tracking.
Do you have a list / a way for me to identify and hook into the events that would normally be tracked? I can’ dig through your code but I was hoping for a faster way to hook into the existing events.
I’m comfortable implementing event tracking in GTM, I’d just rather tap into what you already have in place, instead of reinventing the wheel.

Hi Nikki,
There is a javascript API documentation available, where you can find each event fired by the plugin, you can hook to them and execute code as you need.
We are currently testing an integration method for GTM, it is not too complicated, but we need to write a lot of documentation for it, as the actual connection for the custom event from the tag manager to google analytics via settings is more complicated as the actual code.
The code is ready, we only need the documentation.OK, that sounds promising. How long do you think before you are ready to send it live?
I’d rather use the work you’ve done, and I might be willing to wait, depending on the time frame.
I am hoping this weekend, mid next week (15th) worst case scenario. The update is very close to finish.

You are very welcome 🙂 The update may be released only on the 16th instead of 15th. I managed to implement a predictive search suggestion feature, which I couldn’t solve for a long time. A bit more testing, and it is ready to release.
