How do I stop ajax search from using the navigation in the search results?
What I mean is, it seems like the results are pulling from words in the navigation.

Hi,
That could only happen if the navigation is part of the actual post content itself (and not part of the header), in which case it is nearly impossible to make an exception, but there is still hope.
Using the index table engine will very likely help, as it tries to filter any non-textual HTML out of the content.
