I obtained a free licence for Media service, followed instructions to index via Index table engine. The vast majority of files are pdfs under 10 Mb, a few go above 10 Mb. I append a screen shot of settings for the Index table. I can search content in media files, but apparently only through the local parser.

Thank you so much for letting me know. It was a minor hickup on the remote media server, it got stuck on an operation and didn’t restart as it supposed to. I have done a full maintenance and upgrade, re-indexed and now everything seems to be parsed.
