ParticipantHI – I’m happy to give login credentials if needed, but this is more of a capabilities question:
Your tutorial here: https://knowledgebase.ajaxsearchpro.com/miscellaneous/tutorials/demo-setup-woocommerce-shop-search-and-filter
Seems to imply that I can use a short code to render the search instance, even if I’ve got it set up to use Live Load the results for WooCommerce Shop page enabled. Is this correct? So our link icon in our main menu on every page is already using Ajax Search but I was hoping to make a full shop-page-looking result, right there in the pop-up, similar to what 3rd party companies like DooFinder are now doing:
https://shopify.doofinder.com/#55e3/fullscreen-initial/
Is this something we can achieve, more or less, using my beloved Ajax Search Pro?
Thank you!
Bill

KeymasterHi Bill!
If the live loader for woocommerce results page is enabled, the plugin will try to detect if the current page is the shop page, and if so, then will try to load the results through the shop page – like it’s in the tutorial.
However, if you place the same search shortcode to a non-shop page, then it will use it’s own results container. So there is a detection method, and if the shop archive is not found it falls back to it’s results container.
If you are using a page builder of some sort that has a pop-up feature, you can place the search into that, so more-less you can achieve something similar.
I have recently made a video tutorial on a woocommerce specific search example, I definitely recommend checking it here, I think you will find some good information in it.April 10, 2025 at 4:51 pm #53671billium99
ParticipantAhh I see – so it is possible to build it manually. Great video and great plugin!
Thanks!

ParticipantHi – one more question. I’ve added Tags to my index, and search in tags, along with product titles now. How do I get Product title matches to show up first in results? I seem to have a mishmash of tag matches showing up before our thumbnail imaged product matches (see screenshot)
Where do I control the order of results, or is this possible?
Thank you

KeymasterThank you for your kind words!
Yes, it can be controlled, under here: https://i.imgur.com/yCsS1ZL.png
That option controls the order of various sources. Make sure thepost_page_cptoption is moved to the top, and that will resolve the issue 🙂April 14, 2025 at 4:39 pm #53697billium99

KeymasterThank you very much for the details!
There was actually something wrong, but not the configuration, but a yet unknown bug. There was a check on the plugin side to load the google analytics script, but it turns out the check returned false in your PHP version (7.4), but returns true in newer versions.
I have made a correction to the code directly, now everything should work all right. I have verified the GA tracker via an extension and the data is now properly sent. Make sure to clear your site cache and everything should be all right.
The bug was noted on the issue tracker and will be permanently fixed in the upcoming minor release.
