Hi, I’m using Divi and its standard blog module to display jobs with your search bar. This functions correctly with the standard Divi blog module.

However, with the Divi Blog Extra extension, this method doesn’t work!

I’ve set up the same method with the Elementor Posts Widget Class and I’ve set soft check on Query compatibility options but no luck :/

Any support you can provide will be greatly appreciated!

    Hi!

Sometimes external extensions use different hooks, so they don’t detect the search trigger. Often times it can be resolved with a few lines of code, but it depends on the use case.

I don’t have access to that extension though, can you please add temporary sFTP and back-end login details? I will try to debug through the query via editing the search code to see if there is a way to force the results to the blog extras module.
If it’s possible, then I will make sure to fix it for you locally and create a temporary patch until the next release.

    Hi,

It’s all right, this is the preferred method.

So, the good news is that I was able to make it work together. The bad news is, that both plugins need modification. Blog extras has a filter to hook into the query arguments, but the module arguments are missing, so it’s not possible to verify if the query should be overwritten.
However it’s super easy to fix, by adding one parameter to a hook (literally 1 line change), I have contacted them about it. I really hope they can make that change, that would make this super easy and allow this and also any other plugin to filter their module.

I will integrate this change to Ajax Search Pro, hopefully they will do the same. Until then, here is the download for the modified version for both plugins:

    You are welcome!

Unfortunately the Divi Extra developer have not responded, so there is a very high chance that they don’t care about implementing this feature. Make sure to keep a copy of the modified divi extras plugin I have sent, as if they don’t implement it, it’s not going to work after their plugin update. And without the change it’s impossible to safely filter the module.
