ParticipantHi
I have problem with category filter for media files pdf search
Wnen I set Search Sources -> Media Files Search -> Search Engine for media to “Regular engine” category filter works fine but when I set it to “Index table engine” (I need it for pdf content search) category filter not working properly it not showing all pdf files from category. For example category have 43 pdf files and search result shows only 15. Same is with other categories.
What can be a problem ? Please help me. I have create Index table with “Attachment – Media” and i see in stats that all files i’v included from directory were indexed.July 30, 2025 at 12:50 pm #55070lukas

KeymasterHi,
Can you please add temporary back-end and sftp details so I can debug the issue directly? Thank you!

ParticipantSorry but there is sensitive data so I can’t give you access. Can we debug it in other way ?

KeymasterIt’s going to be a bit harder, but we can try.
First, I would recommend clearing the inclusion, the re-indexing. That will tell us if there is any directory mismatch.

ParticipantI did as you recommended. But unfortunately didn’t helped. Sending in attachment Media Files Search and Categories & Taxonomy Terms settings

ParticipantAnother thing when folder with PDF is not included in Media Files Search after I click some category to search it shows same number of not categorized pdf’s from outside that folder for all categories.

KeymasterAre you using checkboxes or a different filter layout?
I will try to replicate this to see if I get something similar.

ParticipantScreen in Attachment. But with checkbox was same problem. There is problem with tags also.

KeymasterOkay, can you try changing this option: https://i.imgur.com/DP7roIy.png
This will disallow files which does not have any taxonomy terms associated with them.August 4, 2025 at 6:30 am #55136lukas
ParticipantI changed that option and turn it off. Now I don’t see not categories but either i don’t see all pdf’s from category.

KeymasterOkay.
Can you please check the results limit and increase it here: https://i.imgur.com/HwGGPrA.png
If less results are showing up, then it is possible that it’s because of hitting the limit.

ParticipantI have change limits but it didn’t helped. Strange is when i’m changing “Search engine for media” to Regular engine it works fine and shows all pdf’s from checked category. Problem is only with Index table engine. I’m also see many errors in nginx error log during create new index table you think it can cause problem ?

ParticipantMaybe thats helps also in screen there is my category view.
RAPORTY is a group with all pdf’s so pdf’s from all other groups are in that group. Maybe there is problem.
PDF’s were uploaded to wp-content/uploads/PDF to subdirs with years and group names. Then were imported by plugin to media library.-
