ParticipantHi Ernest, I am building a WP copy of this site (built in Craft CMS) https://www.betoninfra.nl/kennisportaal so I have set up a page with all kinds of posts from different categories listed in a column on the right to replicate the page.
Now on the left I would like to have a filter active so visitors can filter on categories and subjects, tags, etc. See screenshot.
I have watched your video about this https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZApL7wOoWdM&t=85s and placed the shortcode <‘div’ id=’wpdreams_asp_settings_1′></’div’> in a text block in the left column. But unfortunately nothing shows up even after creating a new index.
Can you tell me what I’m doing wrong, please?

KeymasterHi,
Thanks for all the details, it helps a lot!
The filter is there, but it’s empty at the moment. Just to test I have made sure to enable the visibility here as well as added categories to it, now it should be there.

KeymasterSure!
By default the taxonomy names should be displayed above each filter. You can change that here: https://i.imgur.com/DFd5wHH.png

ParticipantOK Thank you for pointing this out. I’ve now changed the box header to the main category so to speak.
What I’m actually looking for is a way to get every parent category shown as a box header in between all the child categories (like in my previous screenshot). Is that possible at all or should I then make search instances for each and every parent category separately? And use all the shortcodes below each other in the sidebar? Will that work at all, I’m wondering…?

KeymasterOh I see. I’m afraid no, that is not possible to do. At the moment for each taxonom only a single filter box is permitted.
I usually suggest a custom code where I can, but in this case it’s not possible. However it will be in a future release when a refactoring is finished on the search filter settings.

ParticipantAh, that’s too bad … I really thought it was possible.

ParticipantHi Ernest, I finally found this ‘Reset Button’ option.
I noticed that only the setting ‘Trigger the live search’ at ‘Action after pressing the button & reset’ will uncheck all the boxes, but also clear out the search term.
Is there a way to uncheck all the boxes but leave the search term in its place?

KeymasterHi!
Great, the Reset button is exactly what you are looking for.
Keeping the search phrase however might be a bit of a chore, as it is a hard coded behavior. I can try to look into it, but I’m not sure if it’s possible.
