On our staging site, we have noticed that all of our plugin updates (c35) have not been showing any file update options. We have been investigating and de-bugging to no avail. We asked our host WP Engine to investigate and they have come back having identified that the root issue lies with Ajax Sear Pro.

Thank you for your patience while we investigated this for you.
 
The root cause comes down to a critical code error inside the Ajax Search Pro plugin’s update manager script (ajax-search-pro/src/server/Updates/Manager.php).
 
When WordPress runs its routine background checks to look for new versions, it loops through each plugin one by one. When it reaches Ajax Search Pro, that plugin’s code runs into an unhandled PHP warning loop because it expects web traffic environment headers that don’t exist during standard background checks. This error unfortunately crashes the entire update check sequence, preventing WordPress from reaching or displaying the updates for the remaining 34+ plugins queued up behind it.
 
To confirm this issue, we temporarily deactivated Ajax Search Pro and cleared out your site’s broken update cache. 
 
Immediately, the update pipeline cleared up completely, and WordPress instantly recognized all 35 available plugin updates. 
 

 
Because the site is your staging environment, we have left Ajax Search Pro deactivated for now so that you can log into your WP Admin dashboard right away and run all of your pending plugin updates seamlessly.
 
Once your other plugins are fully updated, you can safely reactivate Ajax Search Pro from your Plugin’s menu so you can continue testing your site.
 
Because Ajax Search Pro’s update class hardcodes this error, we highly recommend that you reach out to the plugin’s developer or support team. You can share this specific error location with them so they can release a quick compatibility patch:

PHP Warning: Undefined array key "HTTP_HOST" / "msg" in .../ajax-search-pro/src/server/Updates/Manager.php
