Thank you for the details, it helps a lot.
From the source I was able to see some of the settings passed to the search bars. From what I can see, the triggering of live search is turned on for mobile devices. Make sure it is turned off here: https://i.imgur.com/XdYwR8A.png
Some handheld devices might be recognized as mobile devices, especially when emulated, so this option applies to them.
