On the Layout options -> Results Layout panel there is an option called Description length where you can enter the length in characters: https://i.imgur.com/1NTThxZ.png
You can modify the result layout on the Theme Options -> Vertical results panel. There are many options, so you can modify every detail of the theme: https://i.imgur.com/2TN5ux5.png
