The shop page is unfortuantely an archive page (not a singular page), which is controlled by WooCommerce, the plugin can not override that.
In the start of the tutorial there is the requirement to create a new page.
In the future it is very likely, that we can actually make this work, but for now there are just too many issues with integrating on WooCommerce.
