It is a known issue in the current release, we have changed the icon and the trigger code does not seem to react properly, it will be fixed in the upcoming release.
You can leave the search instance as is until the update, it will not cause any overhead at all. The plugin auto-detects when a search bar is used and only the neccessary files are enqueued when needed.
