My pleasure. I shouldn’t even have hidden rows. I was keeping them saved in case I needed to access the information, but I’ll be deleting them permanently so I don’t run into this problem or have an extra step to deal with!

FIXED: I saved a lot of time and did a search on my posts for the empty parentheses in the title – “()” – because of the missing identifier, then deleted all those posts. Whew. I had forgotten this quirk about OSX Numbers.

    UPDATE

OK, I know what happened. The hidden rows in my spreadsheet are showing up. I need to delete them before importing it. That should eliminate the ghost entries.

    UPDATE

The problem seems to be that I have some duplicate entries, but not on my spreadsheet/CSV.

Yesterday, while initially importing, I stopped an initial index table generation when I realized that I had not added the ID number that gives them a unique identity.

I stopped the index, and then deleted all the Books posts from my site.

I then corrected the spreadsheet/CSV and imported it again, then generated a new index table.

Somehow, the old entries remained and now they show up in the results.

I will start over later and delete all the Books posts and import them again. then delete the current Index Table and generate a new one. Hopefully that will solve the problem.

    See attached.

    Thank you, Ernest.

I do want to let you know of two workarounds I decided on.

    1. I could not get conditional text to work. Instead, I’m automatically adding prepended and appended text in my OSX Numbers spreadsheet using concatenate commands etc.

    2. I could not get the PDFs to open into anything but the unsecured nativebbrowswr and not the surrounding post, so I’ve compromised and decided not to use any PDF search at all. Instead, I will let the user search for Books with your system, but they will individually search the PDFs using the secure viewer in my layouts. I know that you said that it’s not realistic to think that anything will be totally secure on the Internet, but in this case, I have very little content, and my audience is well known for simply downloading entire documents at once. This is at least making it one step more difficult to do so. I know that you suggested a change in the import method and importing the posts as well, but I kept getting duplicate post in the index and gave up.

UPDATE: Fixed this issue at least. I wasn’t setting up my WP All Import correctly. I didn’t drag the subject fields into the box for the taxonomies.
