Action when clicking the magnifier icon

I have defined a search where “General Options” – “Logic & Behavior” – “Trigger and redirection behavior” is set to the following:

Now when I enter the search term “axiom” for example and press return or the click the magnifier icon, I am redirected to the standard wordpress search result list. This is exactly the behavior I want and expected from the settings above.

However, when I type e.g. “sentences” and press return or the search icon, I am redirected to the first search result instead. which is not the expected behavior and what’s even more irritating is that it occurs for some search terms but not for others.

So far I couldn’t figure out what triggers the difference in behavior.
