    Hello
i have problem with adjusting ajax search pro plugin. It seems that it doesn’t work with theme or other plugins that are installed.

I have products (tests) in Mačka category and also this plugin shortcode http://izrada.website/inovagen3/hr/kategorija-proizvoda/macka/
Would like to achive that this plugin show result only from that category. I dont know how to do that. Can you please help me with that. I will do other categories and subcategories then.

    Thanks

    Hi!

I believe you will have to exclude all the other product categories, and leave only the “Mačka” and it’s subcategories.

More information on how to do that: http://wpdreams.gitbooks.io/ajax-search-pro-documentation/content/advanced/excluding_categories_&_terms.html

Also, make sure that the “product” custom post type is selected for searching: http://wpdreams.gitbooks.io/ajax-search-pro-documentation/content/general_settings/search_in_custom_post_types.html

    Hi,
I like your plugin very much, it has so many useful options! Unfortunately it does not work on my site yet (I believe there is some major problem because it seems like nothing is working correctly).
I’m using one of the best and most sold themes on themeforest ( Flatsome UX), I have disabled all plugins except woocommerce, I have read manual carefully and still nothing.
Here are some of thing I struggle with:
    1) I would like to show in search only products in English language when I am at English page searching and Croatian products when I’m at Croatian language page. Instead I see in dropdown only English products and when I press enter I see listed only Croatian products
    2) I can not click on shown product in dropdown. Products are show but not reacting on click
    3) I have excluded some categories but when I’m searching products from those categories are also shown
    4) Under frontend search settings- Categories and taxonomies in ‘Show the following taxonomy term selectors on frontend ‘ I put few categories for Croatian language, but the does not work on front end, search display everything and not from category that is selected
Would you please be so kind and help with your experience. I believe that solution is very simple but I can not see it. Thank you very much in advance.

    Hi!

I’ve made a few changes to your setup, and I will explain why.

    1. You had Caching (Caching options) and Custom ajax handler activated (Compatibility options). The problem with these is that caching is not yet WPML ready, and the custom ajax handler only loads the most neccessary plugin events – and WPML loading is not registered as one. This resulted in passing the wrong language code to the search, so I had to turn these options off.

    2. The Advanced Ajax Page loader options were enabled. I’ve turned them off, now it should work as expected.

    3. and 4. You have to exclude the categories on the Advanced Options panel. (you will see if you scroll down). The Frontend search options are only for appearance. I see you excluded a few categories on the General Options -> Sources panel, but that options is related to something else (when categories are results).

Hi thank you very much for your help, but unfortunatelly it is still not working..
I just want to make relatively simple search and according to all options your plugin have it should be very easy but I can not make it.
I need to search by breed as on https://www.pawprintgenetics.com/products/search/breed/
When I start to type ger I would like to see in in dropdown all breeds starting with first typed letters ( German Shepherd Dog, German Splitz…)
When I click on one of results in dropdown, for example German shepherd Dog, all products that contain German Shepherd Dog in product text should be shown
Can you please help with you advice, what to change in settings ( maybe easier in new search form)?
Thank you very much in advance!

    Sure.

So I figured out that the breeds are stored as product tags. And that’s the solution, you need to search product tags instead of products.

I’ve turned off the search in posts and pages and products and on the General Options -> Sources 2 panel I dragged the product tags as the source: https://i.imgur.com/ftIg5KY.png

Now I’m getting results like this: https://i.imgur.com/gPyX92M.png

I hope that’s what you were looking for.

    Hi,

thank you for the effort, now its partially working.

Is it possible for people when they search for breeds to only enter a small part of breed name. For example now it only works if I type in GERMAN. If I type in GERMA it isnt working. I would like to make it work if I only enter GER or GERM to get results for all breeds that start with GER or GERM (GERMAN SHEPARD, GERMAN SPITZ, GERMAN PUDDLE etc.)

Also it says that plugin is WPML compatible. What I cant translate is SEARCH BREED in plugin search box – in Croatian language it should be PRETRAGA. Can you help me with that?

Thank you very much in advance!

    Hi!

I see you solved the word match problem. I believe you had the “AND with exact keyword matches” keyword logic selected on the General Options -> Behavior panel.

As for the croatian translation for the “Search breed…” text I recommend this very simple solution:

    1. Make a duplicate of the search instance: https://i.imgur.com/FYyO2Fj.png
    2. Edit the “Search breed…” and any other text in this new search instance to croatian.
    3. Use this new search shortcode in the croatian version of the article 😉
