    Hello,
    first of all, great plugin!
My question: i have a search instance with auto populate (phrase). In general settings i set the primary ordering on Title asc but i think it’s overruled by the auto populate. Is there a way to proceed this?

    Grtz,
    Thom.

    Hi Thom,

Thank you for your kind words!

Yes, actually there is a way to bypass that. Try out this configuration.
The plugin will execute a search on an empty phrase, and use the primary logic as defined 🙂

    I hope this helps!

    Hi Ernest,

    thanks for answering.
I did the configuration you suggest, but that gives ‘no results’.

    Other settings from the instance:
general options > ordering > primary: title ascending > secondary: relevance
general options > sources > my custom post types
front end settings > taxonomy tems i want to display

    Do i miss something?

    Grtz,
    Thom.

    Hi Tom,

That configuration sounds fine to me. I quickly tested this, but I am getting results as normal. Can you add temporary back-end details, so I can check your configuration? I am not sure what I’m missing here.

    Hi!

Thank you for the details, they work.
Can you please link me to a page where this search instance is active? I would like to see how it reacts to changes. Thank you!

Yes it works now the way i like.
(only the instable server connection from my hosting.. they migrate to new architectures, i hope it will be quick solved.)

Your plugin is great, with so much options to set up!

    Grtz,
    Thom.

    by the way,
when the minimal character is set to zero, will it constantly send server requests?
If so, it’s maybe a hint (for the future) to extend the autopopulate function with such a order possibility.

    Thom.

    Hi!

It sends requests whenever a character is typed (or deleted), it just sets the limit to 0 characters. There is a delay added so that when typing, not every keypress sends requests. You can improve the performance by turning off this feature, so that the user has to click the magnifier, hit enter or the magnifier on the mobile keyboard. The auto populate will still work, as long as the character count is set to 0.

    Aha,
thanks again for the extended explanation.

    For now > weekend!

    Grtz,
    Thom.
