Auto update says incorrect permissions

Hi Ernest.
I have activated my ASP correctly and am trying to auto update for th second time, only this time I am getting this message:

Update Failed: The update cannot be installed because we will be unable to copy some files. This is usually due to inconsistent file permissions.

I am reluctant to uninstall and re-install in case i lose all my created searches
Please can you tell me what permissions the system is expecting to find and i will check this first before trying again

Hi Wayne,

You can safely delete the plugin and re-install it again, the information will remain stored in the database. The data is only deleted when a full plugin wipe is executed manually.

This issue is most likely WordPress or hosting related, as it is the plugin manager reporting it. Probably it has some issues with accessing the plugins folder or something like that. I found this and this related issues with different plugins, in both cases the manual installation did the trick.

I did what you suggested, well almost, instead I just re-named the original plugin folder, which deactivated the plugin as expected.
Then I downloaded and reinstalled the plugin again. After activating and testing I then deleted the older version from the admin side and it even removed the re-named original plug in folder too. Now all is working fine with the latest version and all my searches are intact.
