ParticipantHi there!
I’m building a multi-author blog with the Divi theme and I’ve used the great Ajax Search PRO plugin in the home page to have an advanced search engine for posts.
The search engine searches well live but I’m interested in the behaviour when we hit enter (the results page). In my case, it loads the “Search Results” template that I have built in Divi with the Theme Builder. Is this correct or should I build a custom page with the plugin itself? How do I do this?
I also want to be able to search for authors, as you see in the screenshot, so the search results would be both articles and authors, is this possible? how would this be displayed in the search results if we press enter?
Thanks in advance

KeymasterHi,
The plugin is for search purposes, the results page is best managed by the current theme you are using. Divi has a very powerful back-end, you can surely adjust the results page template to you liking – so that is the best and correct way 🙂
To search and return users, make sure to enable the user search on the back-end.

ParticipantGreat, thank you for your response,
Is it possible for the search engine to search for all the posts by a specific author/user if I put the name of the author/user in the search bar?
I have not found the option.
Thank you!March 27, 2023 at 4:07 pm #41976Ernest Marcinko
KeymasterYou are welcome!
Sure! For that you will have to use the index table engine. On the index table settings, you can choose to index the author names as well, then the plugin will be able to find the posts by the author names.

ParticipantHi Ernest! Thank you very much.
I followed the video tutorial on “index table basics” and created one. I have configured it to search for posts (title, content, author names…) but now it doesn’t find them.I attach screenshots.
Thank you in advance

KeymasterOkay, so far so good. Can you please check if the index table is indeed enabled on the search instance settings?

KeymasterOkay!
I just noticed, that you are using a generic filter, and the search in content, titles and excerpt is disabled by default: https://i.imgur.com/3JCWBFV.png
When a phrase is entered it will not search those fields. You can change the states of those filters here: https://i.imgur.com/1evecCy.pngMarch 30, 2023 at 2:35 pm #42051ietxebarria
ParticipantYes! It is true!
It was that, now it works correctly,
Thank you very much for your support,
Have a nice day 🙂March 30, 2023 at 2:36 pm #42053Ernest Marcinko
