We have worked for hours to try to allow a frontend search filter to be whether something is a Buddyboss/Buddypress social group or not. None of the various filter types have worked. We can get it to filter users vs. blog posts vs. any buddypress content but, can’t see any way to make it more granular than just any buddypress content. We have tried content filters, post type filters, taxonomy filters and custom field filters….none seem to matter if checked or not. We have also selected and unselected the various advanced options like ‘Ignore checkbox filters that have nothing selected.’ We also have tried all different keyword logic options.
No matter what we do Buddyboss/Buddypress groups still show up in the search no matter what filter is applied. The only one that effects their appearance/filtering is the blanket general content filter for all Buddypress content.
What are we doing wrong?

Buddypress goups are not post type objects – so the filters will not apply to them. Custom fields and taxonomy terms are in relation with custom post types only in WordPress, that is why the filter does not seem to apply.
