For some reason ([wpdreams_ajaxsearchpro id=3]) is not filtering the results, when using the Categories & Terms filter. You can see the search filter at this private page: https://costaricatoptours.com/searching-images-tools/
For example when ticking the option for “Caribbean” it must only show the results within the caribbean range, instead, it show some other results, it happens when I select other taxonomies as well, like rooms, adults or children. (if you select 10 adults, there are no results, instead the extension show me some random hotel categories.)
Can you please let me know what am I missing here in order to get the correct results?
I tried to look for a solution but I tried many different combinations and the result is the same.
Thanks for the support.
August 30, 2017 at 10:29 am #14554Hi!
I can’t seem to be able to log-in with the back-end details, I’m getting an incorrect password message. Can you please check that? Since the page is private I can’t check that either.
I have a possible guess though. By default the filters will display items that are not related to any of the filtered taxonomies, or does not have any taxonomy terms at all. Try disabling this option on the Frontend Search Settings -> Advnaced panel: https://i.imgur.com/y3Pv9HI.png
Also, if the filters are empty by default and you want to explicitly exclude the items that are unchecked, you can try to disable this option as well: https://i.imgur.com/CqQlpj9.png

Thanks for your response. I tried your suggestions but the results are the same.
I updated the password, you can log in now.
Thanks again.
August 30, 2017 at 2:46 pm #14559Hi,
Thank you! Those appear to be post and product categories that are returned.
Best,
If you don’t want them, then make sure to turn those options off on the General Options -> Sources 2 panel: https://i.imgur.com/lZaF5Hz.png

August 30, 2017 at 3:00 pm #14562Hello, yes I want those to be returned, for example there are only 3 categories under Caribbean, the results should return only those three when check the Caribbean, right?
I just want to filter the results using the taxonomies and variations filter.
Regards
August 30, 2017 at 3:05 pm #14563Hi!
Unfortunately no, because taxonomy terms cannot be filtered by taxonomy terms, it is not possible.
Best,
The taxonomy term filters works for custom post types, because the taxonomies are registed for custom post types as a type of categorization source.

August 30, 2017 at 4:01 pm #14564So, is not possible to show only the category I selected in the filter?
Other question: At the same test page (https://costaricatoptours.com/searching-images-tools/) I added a date shortcode that let me filter on available dates, Is it possible to include this shortcode within the search form?
Thanks
September 1, 2017 at 12:31 pm #14583Hi,
Unfortunately not possible to filter the category type results based on category filters.
The plugin has a built-in date filter, which works for custom post type results, or as filtering by date based on custom post meta:
Best,
– Content filter by publish dates: https://i.imgur.com/Ggrzymg.png
– Custom field filters by date: https://i.imgur.com/ok1201K.png
