Hi,
I had been (happily!) using your Ajax Search Pro plugin (again, which I love!) for little while now. But I’ve changed themes, and now things don’t seem to be playing nicely at all!
In short, when a word or phrase is put in the search field, the little circle just goes ’round and ’round and nada pops up as results.
I’m REALLY hoping this is an easy fix. Could this be a conflict with the new theme? (This is my hunch.)
Thanks in advance for any clarification you can send along,

September 16, 2014 at 8:27 am #2452Ernest MarcinkoKeymasterThis is definitely a theme conflict, since you changed the theme. Could you please attach the zipped theme file here, so I can try it on my test server. Hopefully I can reproduce the issue and find a quick fix for this issue.

Absolutely. I actually use a child theme also. I’ve attached both.
September 18, 2014 at 9:14 am #2488Ernest MarcinkoKeymasterHi!
I have tried the search with the theme, but unfortunately it’s working for me, no matter where I place the search shortcode. I guess there is something else besides the theme, but I don’t know if it’s another plugin, or a different server configuration.
Can you grant me temporary administrator and ftp access for the website? In these cases I usually try to run a line-to-line debugging on the search code until I find the cause.
You can add the credentials by editing your first post in this thread.September 18, 2014 at 2:27 pm #2492smediskyParticipantHi Ernest,
I’ve added my credentials up in the first post. 🙂
I have the search added in two places: in the sidebar as a widget AND in the navigation menu.
I am using a plugin for the navigation. It’s called Ubermenu. I also have their add-on to make the menu sticky.
But even if it’s a plugin issue, isn’t it weird that the search doesn’t work in the sidebar, too?
So odd.
Either way, thanks for taking a look!
Shannon
PS – Is there anyway to remove the theme files I uploaded in this thread now that you’ve taken a look? (I don’t want others to be able to download them, too.) I tried to just edit the post and remove them that way, but it didn’t look like an option. Thanks!

September 18, 2014 at 2:41 pm #2494Ernest MarcinkoKeymasterHi!
Thank you for the login details, I just did a quick check and the ajax request indicated an inconsistency with the caching options. The fix was rather simple, all I did was saved the caching options on the Ajax Search Pro – so the default values had been restored.
I don’t know what could have caused this, but I see no chance that it will ever happen again, at least I hope so 🙂
Let me know if this happens again, then I will investigate more, but for now I think it’s not necessary.

Thank you, Ernest, for looking into it and fixing it. I’m just relieved to hear it was something simple.
If you wouldn’t mind remove the uploaded theme directories that I added to my post above, I’d appreciate it! 🙂
Again, thanks so much.
PS – Just rated your plugin 5 stars on Envato. 🙂 Well-deserved!
September 18, 2014 at 4:25 pm #2497Ernest MarcinkoKeymasterNo problem at all! I take customer support very seriously.
I will remove them, but no worries, nobody had access to them – attachements in support threads are only accessible to me and the thread owner.
Have a nice day, and thank you for the fantastic review!
