ParticipantHi,
For the Elementor Custom Results Page shown here: https://ajaxsearchpro.com/elementor-custom-results-page/
Instead of the results page having the 3 boxes, can the output look more like a search results page where there are:
Title
Content
and a link to read more. Here’s an example of the default Elementor search results page: https://intelliplans.com/?s=website+builder
Thank you,
MattMarch 21, 2025 at 2:25 pm #53419Ernest Marcinko
KeymasterHi Matt,
In that case the layout of the results is controlled by Elementor itself, so it’s up to what Elementor can display.
Try editing the results template in Elementor, it is very likely that it is possible to change the layout.March 23, 2025 at 2:54 pm #53443Matt Lance
ParticipantHi Ernest,
These instructions are outdated.
https://documentation.ajaxsearchpro.com/elementor-integration/custom-results-page-with-elementor-pro
It’s very difficult to follow when using Ajax Search Pro Version 4.27 as the settings and names etc are not the same.
I was able to follow the instructions, but still it’s not working: https://nimb.ws/UPbO1aA
Thanks,
Matt-

KeymasterHi Matt,
I will update that asap, thanks for noticing.
Here is a full video tutorial on how to set it up step-by-step: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RTbxpM1af4c

ParticipantHey Ernest,
The video helped tremendously. The search is working great, perhaps a bit too great!
Here’s the new situation. I believe the search results page is pulling in other posts that are not directly related to the content of the article.
Let me explain further…Our posts, we have two columns and a row below. The right column provides “related posts” and the bottom a similar layout.
When doing a search, is your plugin searching for the entire page including those related articles? If yes, how can we prevent this as the search results page titles are going to be very confusing.
Thoughts?
Thanks again,
MattMarch 24, 2025 at 4:14 pm #53449Ernest Marcinko
KeymasterGreat! I’m happy to hear that!
When doing a search, is your plugin searching for the entire page including those related articles? If yes, how can we prevent this as the search results page titles are going to be very confusing.
It only searches the selected fields – post titles, content, excerpts. If the related items are not part of the post content, then those are not searched. The only possible reason is if the related content is stored within the post content – aka you have to add it in the page builder/editor to ever single post, and is not part of a common template of some sort.
There is nothing much to do about it unfortunately. If it’s stored in the post content field, the plugin only sees that as part of the post content. It is however much more likely that the keyword logic is not set correctly or allows loose matches. First, I would try a more strict keyword logic to see how that changes everything. In most cases that does the trick nicely.

ParticipantHey Ernest,
First, thank you for your continued assistance on this. You’re absolutely wonderful!
After all this, I don’t think this search is working correctly.
I even added in the “more strict keyword logic” the AND with exact word matches and toggled ON “Show exact matches only?”
The first result did not have any reference to the keyword, including any posts on the related posts for that page.
Can you log into the backend to see what’s going on?
Thanks

KeymasterThanks Matt!
The CSS class was not added to the grid, so it was not in effect. I have added it for you, now the results apply correctly.

ParticipantHey Ernest,
Ahh, the CSS class was to be added to the loop item in the Elementor Templates itself?
I think I had added it to the search results page.
You’re simply amazing! We’re totally happy we found your service.
Excellent customer service and amazing plugin!!!
Thanks you,
Matt-

KeymasterNo worries Mat 🙂 It works because the actual Loop Grid Element on that page has the class, see this screenshot: https://i.imgur.com/wmu7Ro3.png
It’s not the template, but the grid that is placed to the page. I hope the screenshot clarifies it! -
