ParticipantHey guys,
have question about “exact matches only”. When i search for example : “Made in Angers 2018”, the results are not exact … Only one word can be exact, not the complet sentence.
Any idea ?
Thanks,

KeymasterHi,
Thank you for the proper details, I believe I found 2 issues with the configuration:
1. The exact matches filter was enabled, but unchecked, I have corrected this one here: https://i.imgur.com/tyuzSQa.png
2. The secondary ‘OR’ logic is currently enabled after exact matching: https://i.imgur.com/ci8SmDE.png
.. if you want to disable the secondary matches and only allow exact matches, make sure to turn it off as well: https://i.imgur.com/dFQ8aC6.pngI hope this helps!

ParticipantHi Ernest,
for the first issue, its normal by default. In the search bar, we have to check this one and uncheck the others.
We must have exact matches only if the user check in filters.
Do you know if your second issue will solve the problem ?Thanks.

The filters didn’t works …January 29, 2018 at 4:05 pm #16518Ernest Marcinko
KeymasterHi,
Yes, my second suggestion will fix the issue, as it will disable the secondary logic.
The filter works correctly, I believe the issue is that you have other types of results enabled as well, and you probably only want custom post types as results, correct?
In that case, make sure to disable all other objects as results:
– Taxonomy terms: https://i.imgur.com/gsig4Z9.png
– Attachments: https://i.imgur.com/uUgZRrm.png
Also, the ‘Pages’ custom post type is selected, but not in the filter, so it will always be considered as result, regardless of the filters: https://i.imgur.com/tQmgK9t.png
If you remove that from the list or add a filter for pages as well, it will allow filtering pages as well.January 29, 2018 at 4:25 pm #16519monagraphic
ParticipantThis not what we need.
We have to find in post, custom post type, in attachement (pdf, filename) only if the checkbox is checked.
I think that Search WP remove our filters … But Search WP allow PDF indexation ..
Any idea ?Thanks.

KeymasterHi,
I thought you mean the live results, not the results page.
If you have SearchWP active, it is not affected by the filters whatsoever. It will simply override the results with it’s own, the filters have no effect on it.

ParticipantI mean results page, not the live results.
If the Search WP override the resultats, it can explain why filters have no effect ?Thanks for replies.
