Exclude Product Cats from search

Hey – how are you?

What settings do I use to exclude a woocommerce product category from displaying the search results?

I’ve gone to: Advanced Options -> Exclude Results and added the categories I would like to exclude – which excludes the Products/Posts from these categories – which is great. What I want to do now is remove:

a) The actual Category
b) The autocomplete product name

To explain, these are categories/products for wholesale customers (set by user role), the products and categories need to be hidden from normal users when using the site search. So what I want to do is remove the selected categories, their products, their autocomplete from the front end search.

How do I do this?

Hi Tye,

I recommend setting the autocomplete to “Post titles” only, that will suggest product titles respecting the exclusions: https://i.imgur.com/fCCKnzW.png

If you wish to exclude certain taxonomy terms from results (as results), then you can do it here: https://i.imgur.com/ThzicFh.png
I checked your back-end configuration, and in your exact case, you have to enter these IDs there:

246,274,1073,1091,1213,1179,1216,1189,1048,989,979,1079,1108,257,254,1252,1240,208,44,51,1241
