ParticipantHello Ernest,
I hope you’re well :).
Just a quick query, you will see I have set-up a search bar here: http://dev2.wfw.temporarywebsiteaddress.com/about-us/
If you search for say ‘Barcelona’ it brings up 2 x results: ‘about us barcelona’ and ‘Spain’, but basically I only want it to bring up the ‘Spain’ page as I only want this to search ‘Location’ specific pages, and the way I have set this up, which I thought would work, was via: ‘Advanced Options’ > ‘Exclude Results’ and I then configured: ‘Include posts (or cpt, attachments, comments) only from selected categories/taxonomy terms’ to include only pages which have the Location taxonomy set, which all the pages beneath the Location parent page do. So, in theory, this should should ONLY bring up the ‘Spain’ page, as that has a location taxonomy allocated, whereas the ‘about us barcelona’ page doesn’t so it shouldn’t come up?
Am I doing something wrong? If you could take a look that would be super, but basically the key goal is I need this search field to ONLY search the child pages of the Location parent page.
Many thanks for your help,
Tonya-

KeymasterHi Tonya,
I hope you are doing fine as well 🙂
You are looking to turn off this option right here: https://i.imgur.com/AnLjQtg.png
I know that options is a bit off position, but unfortunately it is related to both filters and exclusions in the same way, and I could not find a better position for it yet. It basically disables posts, that does not have any taxonomy from the relations assigned for them. If you want to learn more about it, you can check this documentation.November 26, 2018 at 11:29 am #20107tjldesigns

Ah this is perfect, I’ve updated that and it’s now all working perfectly. I’ll remember that now hehe. Thanks so much for your quick help too – so much appreciated as always :).
