I am testing Ajax Search Pro and I would like to ask you if it’s possible to have the topmenu that we made by using button modules (in Divi page builder) excluded. Because right now when using the search in a lot of instances the results begin with all the topmenu items “Mijn ECDL Over ons FAQ Nieuws Contact”
I have tried to exclude these by following your guidelines and giving the topmenu section an id but then nothing was shown (No results page).
Is there something I missed or is there any other way to achieve this? Thanks in advance!

KeymasterHi Steven,
Thank you very much for the details, it helps me a lot!
Okay, so the top menu items are actually pages, so I am guessing, you don’t want to get results from the ‘page’ post type. By default the plugin returns posts and pages. To disable pages as results, simply drag the ‘page’ custom post type from the selection, like this: https://i.imgur.com/UL97WRH.png
If you don’t want to exclude all pages, only some of them, then you can use the page exclusion option, under the Advanced Options ->Exclude results panel here instead: https://i.imgur.com/uqiJ46y.png

KeymasterHi,
Thank you, I was able to test the search on the back-end.
Please check our previous reply, it should contain the resolution.

ParticipantHi Ernest, thank you for your quick response once again. It’s not what I meant though.
I only want to exclude the text that’s in the buttons: “Mijn ECDL” “Over ons” “FAQ” “Nieuws” “Contact” “Modules” “Organisaties” etc See image menu on page.jpgBecause now every search result that is a page starts with these words and they’re not useful 😉 See image search results.jpg
But certainly I want all pages and posts included in the search result.I hope this makes sense…

KeymasterHi!
I see it now, you mean the results page (when hittin the return button, or the magnifier). Unfortunately that is not affected by the plugin itself, it is fully controlled by the theme. The plugin just sends the posts that it found to the theme search handler page, and it parses the individual fields.
You might have to contact the theme author on how to exclude those from the results.October 24, 2018 at 2:05 pm #1961199projects
ParticipantOK, thanks! I will try to get in touch with them.
