Hi,
I’ve recently purchased your Ajax Search Pro version, but am not seeing the data flow as expected into Google Analytics. I am using Google Tag Manager to load universal analytics. I’ve uploaded images to my staging server since I don’t know Imgur. They are from my production account.
I have also enabled the switch in your plugin

If I go into the backend of WordPress and look at search stats, I’ll see this
https://timeatlas-staging.mwlnmfu4-liquidwebsites.com/wp-content/uploads/ajax-sp-stats.jpg
I did find some reference doc that said I also needed to set View Properties. I’ve done that here:

When I go to Google Analytics, I don’t see either the items above or anything.

or here

As for my configuration, I have it such that when a user hits Enter, they go to the results in the same page. The url looks like this
https://timeatlas-staging.mwlnmfu4-liquidwebsites.com/wp-content/uploads/ajax-vlookup.jpgHowever, if they click an item from the widget, they will go to the specific page. The URL doesn’t change, but is the desired one.
I hope this helps. If you would prefer a screencast, I’m happy to do.
Kind regards,
AnneJune 27, 2018 at 7:49 pm #18475Hi Anne,
The plugin is not yet compatible with the gtag version of the tracking code, only the universal analytics.js implementation as described in the documentation.
The search statistics database (on the statistics menu) is only internal, that information is not sent, and cannot be sent to google analytics unfortunately.
The main difference between gtag and analytics.js is, that gtag is more advanced and focuses on interactions mostly, not pageviews. A solution for gtag is coming soon of course, but currently only the universal tracking is available.
The statistics page is also under re-work, as it is one of the oldest features within the plugin now. I am planning to add details about each phrase, daily, weekly, monthly analysis and similar features.I hope this helps!
Best,

June 27, 2018 at 8:07 pm #18477Hi Ernest,
thanks for the prompt reply. Sorry to hear about the GTag issue. You might also want to put this in the docs. I know you reference universal analytics.js, but since that’s the way the connector is defined in Gtag, we think they are identical.
Let me know if you want beta testers. HAppy to help out.

Thank you very much for your offer, I believe this should be included within the upcoming release. I will make sure to clarify within the documentation as well.

October 6, 2018 at 10:56 pm #19413Hi Ernest,
I didn’t see anything in 4.14 version notes about this. Do you still have on the “drawing” board to allow Google Analytics integration for folks who use Google Tag Manager?
Kind regards,
AnneOctober 7, 2018 at 9:23 am #19414Hi Anne,
The analytics re-work is not ready yet, it had been delayed to the next release. It is in progress though 🙂
Best,
I am hoping to finish it as soon as possible. The statistics and the analytics integration will be merged together for a better layout and UI.
