ParticipantHello, I am setting an instance with Ajax search pro. However, I noticed that when I use AND + enabling exact matches only, searching ANYWHERE and using the standard search engine where it should treat, for example two search strings as a single one, eg: searching for “Hello World” should match exactly “Hello World”. Instead it matches only the first string eg: “Hello”. I am also using the “Scroll to the first keyword” option. So I need to make ASP to scroll to the “Hello World” result and NOT to scroll on the first “Hello” result. Can you help me do that?
Also, please note that this exact setup worked flawlessly in the free version that I have upgraded.
My idea is to have two instances of ASP set. One will be for exact matches using the standard search engine and another for single words only, but using the index search engine.June 24, 2025 at 10:59 am #54498Ernest Marcinko
KeymasterHi,
I can confirm there is an issue with the keyword highlighter. The exact matching works all right, but the highlighter simply highlights the first phrase match incorrectly. Luckily this is a very minor bug and I was able to locate it and find a potential fix already.
Please download this beta version and install it.
After installation, clear all layers of cache so the scripts are refreshed. After that, the scrolling should prioritize exact match highlights and scroll to the first location of a possible exact match.

ParticipantThank you, Ernest for the help. Could you please provide me with non-restricted version for WordPress 6.1.7 please?

KeymasterThe linked plugin works on WordPress 6.0 and above, including 6.1.7.

ParticipantThank you! One more thing I testes and everything works fine. But I see that although my ajax search lite is disabled it still works. Should I remove it completely or keep it like that, this is a testing machine where I keep all shortcodes on the page, but for production I will need to know?

KeymasterAll right, thank you for the feedback, I will make sure to include this fix in the next update.
The Lite and Pro are standalone plugins, so you should only have one of them enabled, in this case the Pro version. You can remove the Lite version if you want to, it’s not needed for the Pro.
