ParticipantHi,
I’m having trouble excluding ‘pages’ from my search results. I disabled ‘Search in Pages?’ but my pages still show in results. Am I doing this the right way? If you go to my website and do a search for one of my pages like ‘About‘ or ‘Submit‘ they will show in the search results which I don’t want.
Thanks,
Mike

KeymasterHi Mike,
Thanks for the proper details, I have found the problem.
I’ve noticed you are using the plugin as a non-live search, and have redirections enabled, but not search override. Without an active override, the plugin only redirects to the results page, but does not affect the results. I’ve enabled the override on the bottom of the General Options -> Behavior panel on the search instance options. Now the plugin will try to override the default results, and not display the pages anymore.January 10, 2017 at 10:14 pm #11539mikecheck1two
ParticipantErnest,
Thanks so much for the quick response and for fixing the issue.
I’m having another issue with the search not showing results for a keyword from my post title. For example, I have 2 posts with the word ‘Test’ in the title and two posts with the word ‘Christmas’ in the title… but when I do a search for the word ‘Christmas’ I should have 2 results but it only shows one result. I should also have two results when I search for the word ‘Test’ but I only get one result. DO you know why that is?

KeymasterHi,
I’ve run a few tests, and it appears to me that the theme might have an override as well, or some sort of issue with printing the results, I’m not sure yet. If I turn on the live resutls, it returns them as expected, but on override there is always only the first result there.
Unfortunately I’m not able to tell, it might be a theme related issue as well. If you want, I can take a look, but I will need temporary FTP access for that. I will try to look through the plugin as well as the theme’s search results template file to check where the results are lost.

KeymasterHi!
Thanks for the details, I have found the problem. It was not a bug, nor an issue with the theme. After some time I have found that on the read options you set to display 1 blog item only: http://i.imgur.com/h6foGny.png
The theme probably uses a different value, but ajax search pro uses this system option for posts per pages. If you change that to 10 (default), then it will display more as expected.
