ParticipantI can’t put a search field in the header, instead of the search field that is there, can you help me? I’ve tried everything and I can’t do it at all.

KeymasterHi,
Sure!
Does your theme have a block header or header widget support of some sort?

ParticipantThe theme is Newspaper! and it has a similar one to elementor called TagDiv Composer! I tried everything and I couldn’t, this plugin is being useless for me.

KeymasterIt is not the plugin’s fault that the theme does not support placing a simple shortcode into the header though.
May I take a look at this somewhere? Can you add temporary back-end details so I can check if there is a header editor of some sort? Most modern themes have a header block editor, where you can simply put the search shortcode (or any other shortcode).

KeymasterI’ve already contacted the theme support and haven’t received any solution.
That is really disappointing, it should be a super simple code or widget replacement, not sure why they don’t care. I have seen at least a 1000 other search bars like that in theme headers replaced without any particular issues.Can you share like a copy of the theme or temporary sftp and back-end details to a test server where I can check out and debug the issue directly? Even if that search is hard-coded to the theme, it should be a 30 second replacement within the header file through a child theme.

ParticipantHi, I can’t send you the theme because it won’t work; it only works for one-time activation.
You have to buy a theme here: https://themeforest.net/item/newspaper/5489609
After you buy it, you’ll have personalized support that will answer you and provide support, so…
then you ask them to provide support for your plugin. I can’t put a shortcode…
on the homepage, it’s impossible to do, I’ve been working on it since yesterday, I managed to do it today.Create a smart search field for me, because Ajax Search Pro is useless.
The shortcode doesn’t work, there’s no option on the static screen, there’s no way to add a homepage.

KeymasterIf you can place HTML code there, then it’s definitely possible to place the shortcode too, it works the same way. In theme files this is how you use a shortcode ex.:
<?php echo do_shortcode('[wd_asp id=1]'); ?>
Simple as that.This topic will be autoclosed soon as your support period has expired over 4 months ago.
