    Hi,

we use Ajax Search Pro on one site together with the plugin WPForo. I would like to have the posts of this forum software searched by Ajax Search Pro as well.

For my understanding – this can be wrong of course – I have to have the WPForo fields for the headline and the post text indexed in the mySQL_Database. Ajax Search Pro does not offer me these fields by default, only the Cross-Posting Addon of WPForo can be indexed.

These fields can be found in the mySQL database under wpr5_wpforo_posts / title | body (for posts), all the other things like PostID can be found there as well.

Is there a way how I tell Ajax Search Pro to index these fields as well? If so, this could be good for you too – WPForo is very good software with a large community, and I know from their forum that they are looking for a search software that indexes both the blog and the forum. It should be easy to communicate that there.

    Thanks for caring,

    Bernd

    Hi,

I’m afraid this is not possible. If the forum posts were regular custom post types, then it would be easy – but because it is a separate table, it’s not possible.

I cannot promise a future upgrade where this is supported either I’m afraid – I uderstand it is a great software, but there is already a great overhead of 3rd party plugin support right now. Maybe if we can create an add-on API for the plugin, then it could be made as a possible, optional add-on.

Thanks for caring. I’ll ask their support, what they could do, and come back to you.

    Yours, Bernd
