ParticipantHello I had a question about integrating this search plugin with Ultimate Member Directories. The search bar works fine, but the results page is what is the problem. Instead of the search bar redirecting to a search page I want it to lead to the Ultimate Member directory. Is there a way to integrate the search bar to lead to the ultimate member directory?

KeymasterHi!
I believe it might be possible, but for that I need to know the URL of the ultimate member directory on your site, to be able to suggest a specific solution. The exact URL is not needed, just the structure, like: yoursite.com/path-to-the-ultimate-member-directory/
On the General Options -> Logics & Behavior panel there is an option to change the redirection to a custom URL. Putting the relative URL to that field should be the solution: http://i.imgur.com/Q9IkDcv.png

ParticipantThe solution worked for redirection to the directory page, but I don’t think i explained properly. I was wondering if there was a way to use the search bar and the search results would be in the form of the member directory. So when I search Dave in the search bar the member directory would show results for Dave.

KeymasterHi!
You mean the live search? Well, there is a results shortcode available for each form, which basically is used to position the results elswhere, but below the search bar. The only solution is to perhaps place that shortcode to the desired location, and the results will be displayed there. That is usually used as a replacemenet or addition to a page where the search bar is visible.
However it is not possible to use a results page for live searching. I’m guessing in your case there is a memeber directory results page that displays search results, and if you would like the ajax search bar to use that layout to display the results, unfortunately that is not possible.

ParticipantThank you for the response. I actually had another question regarding the search bar. Currently the users on the website have a field that shows their address with google maps. Is there a way to search for that field that would show proximity.
For example a user types into the search bar long beach, ca or 90280 and the results would be based on proximity to that location.September 25, 2017 at 3:17 pm #14874Ernest Marcinko
KeymasterHi,
Unfortunately that is not possible for sure. There are many reasons, if you want I can detail them, but long story short it’s a bit complicated, and there is no workaround for it yet.
