Dear Sir,
I see issue with filter in search
Example
If I click on filter by district: Bagalkot the result appearance is same for even Ballari. This is with any other section of district too. It should work like, if users clicks Ballari it should show the post which has category Ballari.
As soon click on the close button in search bar, it further shows the same result. Not sure, why its showing the contents when we close the search.Even this problem with filter by category too, whichever category you click the results are same.
Kindly login and fix the issue.
Please respond at the earliest.June 15, 2020 at 11:58 am #27862Hi,
I think the issue is, that there are posts showing up, that does not belong to any of the districts. If you disable this option, it should resolve the problem: https://i.imgur.com/qoOpE0a.png

June 15, 2020 at 12:07 pm #27867Hi,
Yes now its fixed. However, when you select any district then deselect the checkbox, all the posts will display in the search result. How to avoid that? I don’t want to show those posts when nothing is selected.
Screenshot attached for the reference. You can test as well, by doing same as mentioned.
Waiting for your reply.

June 16, 2020 at 9:38 am #27878Hi,
I don’t see the plugin search bar on that page. Make sure to either use the search widget, or the search replacement feature – whichever works for your.
Best,
Also, make sure that the search in taxonomy terms is enabled, as well as the search override so the search pushes the results to the results page.

June 16, 2020 at 9:42 am #27879Searchbar is in home page. https://rellowplaques.com
Which is not showing any search result when category field for example History is selected.
Please check home page and let me know which settings need to be enabled?

It is because of this option, that I previously suggested. You didn’t want to see any results unless the checkboxes are selected – so even if you select “History” the other taxononomy (district) is still considered as exclusion if nothing is selected – and therefore nothing is displayed.
Best,
You can either turn that option back on, or if you don’t want to combine the filters, you can try a different logic: https://i.imgur.com/d1RKe96.png

June 16, 2020 at 10:05 am #27882if i enable this : https://i.imgur.com/5OKwc82.png
If i select any category same result appears and if I deselect that category again same result it shows. So, which is not correct.
This OR also i tried, again for example If i select ecology, which has actually 2 post. However, the search result shows all the post. Please help us with resolving this search filter. You know our requirement. If anyone select district ‘Belllari’ it should show only that result, if someone tries selecting category ecology, only that post it needs to show.
If the selection is done Bellari and history category the result should show accordingly. You have the credentials, pleas fix it.
June 16, 2020 at 1:54 pm #27900I understand, but this exact requirement is not possible – because you don’t want to display anything, when there is nothing selected, but then apply the filter when anything is selected – even for filters where nothing is selected. It’s not possible to do both.
I think the closest possible configuration would be this one: https://i.imgur.com/Hvo6TRO.png
It will require at least one option to be selected from each group – but will display all the results when no filter is active.Another possible configuration: https://i.imgur.com/zSec0OT.png
Best,
This will treat both filters individually, but will not display anything if nothing is selected.

June 16, 2020 at 4:15 pm #27901Okay,
However, I noticed when we type any keyword such as Mysuru(Which is district) in Search Plaques.. input field the results are not showing. Its showing message “No result for Mysuru.
If you select it from filter field it shows 5 result though.Actually there are more than 5 result for that district. Its showing only 5. Why so?

Check this above URL this is not showing in the result in home page. You can check in dashboard post section by editing following post. In the district we have selected Mysuru.
Please check both the issues.

June 17, 2020 at 8:03 am #27905Reload now. Site is loading fine now.
June 17, 2020 at 9:30 am #27911It is because of this setting. You needed no results when no filter is selected – so no matter what you type in, there are not going to match anything, unless something is selected in the filters.
