ParticipantHello,
I’ve configured the Ajax Search Pro plugin and was wondering, since it is possible to show the location of a keyword on a page, if it is possible to setup Ajax Search Pro so that it jumps to the exact location of the keyword on the page?
For example, say I search for ‘1900’s Germany’ And the Search bar is able to correctly identify that the ‘History of Germany’ page has a chapter labeled exactly that… Can I configure Ajax Search Pro to jump to that exact chapter? So I wouldn’t have to scroll down all the way?
Sincerely,
Lucas

KeymasterHi,
Yes – it is possible, however it may not work in every case perfectly, and only works for keyword and partial matches at the moment.
You can enable that feature here: https://i.imgur.com/FhhWPvD.png
In you case, try setting the DOM container selector to
.geen-overlayover here: https://i.imgur.com/GgnlfiV.pngJune 3, 2025 at 2:52 pm #54272moniquevandongen_D90J
ParticipantHi,
Unfortunately that doesn’t seem to work. Highlighting of keywords does, but not the scrolling.
Any idea if it could have something to do with the theme we’re using or the fact some keywords are located within Accordion items?

KeymasterIt is possible, yes. Can you add temporary back-end details so I can try a different configuration?

ParticipantHi,
We have a development backend, but the version of Ajax Search installed there is the lite/free plugin. As far as I can see, that version doesn’t include the necessary options to enable keyword scrolling.
We paid the license for 1 website only. Our live website can be copied over to our dev environment but I have no idea what would happen to our Ajax Search Pro license if we did that. Our main domain is http://www.domainname.nl, while our dev environment is formatted as dev.domainname.nl. Can you give me an indication if, with domain names like that, we can safely transfer our website over to our dev environment without any issues?
Thanks in advance

KeymasterHi,
If the top level domain name is the same, then nothing will happen, it will be considered to be active. Even better, because the subdomain is “dev.”, the license activation is completely ignored as the plugin recognizes that it is a development environment and skips that.
Even if anything would happen, you can always re-activate the license key.

ParticipantHi,
We managed to install the Pro Plugin with basic configuration in our dev environment.
I can create temporary login details so you can try a different configuration.
To what email adress can I send the login details?

ParticipantI’ve made the login credentials and you should expect an email with your account information shortly.
The issue is that we want the plugin to scroll to the position of the keyword when clicking the search button, something which we’ve been unable to get to work as of yet.
So far example, this link https://dev.vennhypotheken.nl/voor-adviseurs/gemakkelijkgroen/?asp_highlight=maatregelen&p_asid=1
Should scroll down to the location of the keyword on the page.

KeymasterOh okay, I will check that.
I tried to open the page, but it’s .htaccess password protected. Can you please let me know?

KeymasterThank you!
I got the htaccess credentials, but not the log-in credentials for some reason.
It’s all right, from the front-end I see the problem. It seems like the selector has not been changed yet. Can you please make sure that this option is set to
.green-overlayThe scroll is not triggered because the keyword parent selector is not found, but that should fix the issue.

ParticipantHi,
Ié changed the above setting, but scroll is still not triggered. Could something still be amiss?

KeymasterIntersting, now the scroll animation triggers but it’s simply ignored for some reason. I don’t know if it’s a 3rd party script or an attribute, but something is blocking it.
Can you add temporary back-end details? I would like to install and test a beta release to see if a different method works.
