I just installed Ajax Search Pro and it seems to do everything we need except one thing. My client is interested in the search including the comments containing the search terms and having them show up first in the results list which is the way I have set it up. The problem is that the entire comment, regardless of length, is displayed in the sidebar. Is it possible to limit the result to a short snippet or excerpt with, say, 20-25 words on either side of the search result. With long comments the sidebar is often too long. Thank you.

Thank you for all the details, it helps us a lot!
You have discovered a code bug, as the plugin should have respected the default content length (130 characters +/- word endings). Since you added back-end access, I used the code editor to apply a minor fix directly to the plugin code to respect the description length values. Now it should be all right.
