Hi – just bought Ajax search pro – it’s a thing of beauty and I’m just finding my way round all the brilliant customisations. One quick question. Is there any way to create a search instance that is limited to just one page?

    Thanks
    Martin

    Hi Martin,

Thank you for your kind words!

Well, you can do that via custom code, but that would only return that one single page as result, and nothing else.
If you want to restrict the results to a number of pages/posts, I rather recommend using category/term or other restrictions.

Hi – thanks for coming back to me.

    A slight misundertanding. Language eh?!.

What I mean is; I would like is a search instance placed on a single page that only retunrs results for that page – in the same way as ctrl+F (cmd+F Mac) does?

    Hi,

That is not possible unfortunately. The plugin can only return individual posts/CPT records from the database – thus that single page as a single result. Searching within pages that way is not possible.

    Ok thx

It’s always slightly frustrating that SO few people know about ctrl+f. I use it all the time!
