    Hi,

    I have another question:
on my site I have the search-bar included together with two dropdown fields.
Where can I set the behavior f the two dropdown fields and the searchfield ?
I want to have an AND connection between all the fields.

    Another question:
is it possible to set my image (in the middle of the homepage) as a background image for the searchbar DIV ? So that the searchbar is centered inside the image ? That would be great!

    Many thanks for your help…

Another thing: if I have selected checkbox or radio button view in settings – how can I change the alignment of the checkboxes or radio-buttons ?
They are all underneath each other. How can I change the layout of the checkboxes and radio buttons ? (for example: displayed in 2 or 3 columns)

Thank you very much for your support…

    Another thing I saw now:
I am using a plugin to add tags and categories to pages. But when I set a filter with tags or another one with categoriesit doesn’t work: it shows me some pages but not the taged ones I wanted.

How can I force the search to show me the pages with the tags or categories I have filtered ?

Sorry for my bad english – I’m from germany…

    Sorry, but the next problem:
I have created a simple search which only searches in the title of the pages.
When I insert “Unterhaltung” a german word for etertainment it returns different results but no result contains “Unterhaltung” in the title.
I created a second search (stadard settings – no change of any settings) and replaced my simple one: the same here: no results matching the page title.
Do you have an idea what’s happening here and why I am getting the wrog results ?

    Hi!

    1. To adjust the logic between the logic between the fields on the Frontend Search Settings -> Advanced panel: https://i.imgur.com/ZLdJkHA.png

    2. To center the search on an image you have multiple options:

    • If you are good at coding, you can create HTML and custom CSS code in the post editor and put the search shortcode there. There is no exact way of doing this, it depends fully on your environment.
    • Using a visual editor, like visual composer, which I believe supports sections and background images. You might still need some custom CSS code, it really depends on your theme as well.

    3. You should try the block layout of the settings box instead of the default “hovering”. The block layout adopts to the search width, but it also pushes the content downwards. You can change that on the Frontend search settings -> General panel: https://i.imgur.com/l3jxysG.png

    4. Unfortunately tags will not work with pages, only category filtering is supported yet.

    5. In your previous ticket you asked if you can make a search without the search bar. There was a code you had to insert into your functions.php. That code resets the search phrase to an empty string, meaning it does not matter what you type into the search bar it will always search for an empty string””. If you decided to use the search bar, you will have to remove that code from your themes functions.php file.

    Hi Ernest,

    many thanks for your reply.

I have done this before but it doesn’t work because I used tags (of pages) which actually don’t work –> can you make this plugin work with tags for pages, too ? Would be great!

I have no idea how I can do this in CSS – I don’t know CSS and how to code this – do you have any snippet or a website with an example how could this be done ? Many thanks…

I have done this before but the checkboxes and radio buttons still look like list-items – I want to align them in 3 columns – any idea how this could be done ?

    4. Unfortunately tags will not work with pages, only category filtering is supported yet.
Please: can you add this feature in a next version ? I saw another guy who wants the same so I think I’m not the only one who needs this feature – many thanks…

I HAVE removed the code in the functions.php and the CSS-code, too. I have set the option to only search in title of the pages for the searchterm. But it gives me results without the searchterm in the title. I have sent you an admin access to my site. Can you have a look at the setup I’m using ? Many thanks…

    Best Regards,

    Hi!

    1. See 4.

    2. Well, I don’t have a snippet, because it highly depends on your website structure and the actual code. I’ve crated a quick snippet that might help you: https://jsfiddle.net/0zoqgovc/

    3. If you want each group next to each other like this it’s possible with some custom css:

    div.ajaxsearchpro[id*='ajaxsearchprosettings'].searchsettings {
        width: auto !important;
    }

You can add this css on the plugin options Theme Options -> Custom CSS panel: https://i.imgur.com/xGGX9Ia.png

    4. Will see what I can do, but I cannot promise this – it’s much more complicated than it seems unfortunately.

    5. The code is still there, I can see it in the theme code viewer, proof: https://i.imgur.com/Yf4yDaX.png
Once you remove it correctly, it will start working again.

    Hi Ernest,

sorry because of my late reply but I was away. Many thanks for your great support.
Now it works correctly. I copied the php code TWIZE into functions.php ad only deleted it once.
Therefore I thought I already deleted it.
Many thanks for your snippet. I managed to adjust the paraeters and now it really looks god.

I have one strange behaviour (a bug ?):
When you go to my homepage and enter for example “Kinderprogramm” into the searchbar, on top there are the categories displayed which have this name in it. But underneath it says:
“Hier finden Sie alles über Bayern (1)”
And underneath this sentence there is a Link to a post which is called:

But if you edit this post it is NOT inside the “Bayern” category. It is located inside another category.

The same happens for the pages underneath this page:
“Hier finden Sie alles über Kinderprogramm (1)”
And a page is shown as result underneath which is located in the “Bayern” category.

    So it is totally mixed.

Do you have any idea why this happens ?

    Hi!

The page is full of javascript errors and it affected the search as well. It seem like jQuery library is missing: https://i.imgur.com/0QQLYwJ.png

After I switched the JS Source on the Compatibility settings submenu to Minified Scoped, the plugin started working again.

Once you resolved the jQuery issues, you should switch back to the “Minified” option, as it’s much more compatible than the current one: https://i.imgur.com/Mboo9xg.png

The second issue is most likely related to pages with categories, there must be some kind of mixup. The bug might not be related to the search, but I don’t know.
If you can provide FTP access as well, I can try to debug through the queries and check where the problem might be.

    Best,
