ParticipantHello there
For some reason, today when I went into our WP Admin, I noticed that the Search Pro plugin was ‘inactive’. I have not changed this and can see there was an update of the plugin a week ago.
I activated the plugin again and went to check the set-up..
Some of the set-up was not as per my original settings which haven’t changed for some time now as I was happy with the set-up.
One of the things now that doesn’t seem to be happening with returned search results is search ‘Custom Tabs’ in my product. Previously, this could be added the Index under ‘Custom Tabs’.
I may be missing something obviously here,
Not sure why this has happened,
Please can you help.
thanks

KeymasterHi,
That is strange and could indicate a deeper issue as the plugin can’t deactivate itself, unless it is triggered via the maintenance menu. Same with the settings, it can’t change the settings without user input. Are you sure you didn’t have a server rollback of some sort?
The most likely explanation for the de-activation can be a failed update hook in wordpress. It happens when the server is overloaded for a second right after the update is finished and WordPress does not re-activate the plugin. It is very unlikely you will experience that again.
I checked the search as well, tried a few phrases from the product tabs, but they seem to be indexed properly. For example searching “innovation” gives me these results, where in this case the word only appears in the tabs, so therefore it must be indexed.

ParticipantThanks for the speedy response and logic on what may have happened in server / update.
I can see that the index has captured the tabs, however, if you search the word in the ‘search box’ there is a list of matched products, however when you press the ‘return’ key the product results are not the full list of products that were captured in the original search. I think this is what led me to think the tabs weren’t being indexed,]
So, it is a ‘return’ search results issue on pressing the return key in that the full list of products do not return
Can you advise re this
Many thanks again for your help

ParticipantI’ve worked out what was happening, in the settings the default WordPress search results were being returned, however, I have toggled the over-ride button as per the attached image and the results now show the same full search results when pressing return.
Thanks again for the top support and great plugin.
