Can we change the search so it pulls more than 100 posts?

Can we make it so when a category gets chosen but no words are included in the search that anything with that category continues to show up?

Sometimes searches are chronological and sometimes they aren’t. What defines the hierarchy of post results? Can we make it so the first posts were ones that had the search term in the title and then further down on the page would be the ones with the search term in the body of the site?

    Hi,

Can we change the search so it pulls more than 100 posts?
Under the General Options -> Limits panel, you can change the number of posts returned per search: https://i.imgur.com/LOeKkNM.png

Yes, by making sure that these options are set as following: https://i.imgur.com/53hsqiz.png

    Ordering
The default primary ordering is Relevance, the secondary is by Date descending. You can change them under the General Opions -> Ordering panel: https://i.imgur.com/OMbCVIq.png

    I hope this helps!

One further question – could we adjust the settings to make it pick up phrases in quotes or multiple terms separated by commas?

With the search if I pick a category and type a term into the search bar which DOESN’T occur in the database, it still pulls up the category search results. It would be better if the search bar would say “no results” in this circumstance.

Is there a way to change out the search results to pull just like the archive page or category page with the full posts highlighted?

    Hi!

If you wish not to display any taxonomy term (category) items as results, then on the General Options -> Sources 2 panel make sure that nothing is selected.
I believe that is what you are looking for.
