Hi,

Thank you for the details, it helps a lot!

1. It is not possible. However you can try instead of using the default “static” layout, using something like this: https://i.imgur.com/aepJAU8.png
That will remove the icon from the document flow, and will not push the other elements. You may need to adjust the position values, to get the correct position

Unfortunately there is not option to do that, but you can use custom CSS to increase the icon size, like so:

.probox .promagnifier .innericon {
    background-size: 24px !important;
}

Apply this code to your theme custom CSS field (if it supports it) or use the custom CSS field on the search plugin back-end.
