ParticipantHi there,
I have set this short code on my homepage to display random content, however, the content always stay the same. How and when does it update/change?
Best regards,
KyleJune 5, 2018 at 7:50 pm #18138Ernest Marcinko
KeymasterHi Kyle,
I believe that might be happening due to caching. Can you try turning off this option: https://i.imgur.com/9y9OQuP.png
If you have a page cache, you might have to clear that as well.

ParticipantHey Ernest,
Cache is disable and browser history cleared, but still the same posts across multiple devices.
Attached are my settings: https://imgur.com/a/OXslqyW
Even cleared the cache on Cloudflare.
Any ideas?
Best Regards

KeymasterHi Kyle,
I am not sure then, maybe the database RAND() function does not randomize, and only returns the same ‘random’ results for some reason, although that is very unlikely.
Can you please add temporary FTP and back-end access? I would like to debug the code directly to see where it fails.

KeymasterHi,
Thank you very much for the details.
Unfortunately I am not able to view the site back-end, it redirects me to the home page, so I cannot check the plugin configuration.
The FTP details are actually log-in details to the web administrator tools, however the file manager does not let me make changes to the files. Can you arrange simple, regular FTP details instead? That would help a lot.Thank you!

KeymasterHi Kyle,
Thank you very much. I didn’t need it after all, I found it was only a configuration issue I didn’t notice. Basically the override was not activated, so the ordering was not in effect. I have changed this option, that resolved it: https://i.imgur.com/G3OxhQa.png
It should display random content now, every time.

ParticipantHi Ernest,
Really appreciate you finding that.
Just one last thing, the related posts are now including pages from the subsite. I can’t find any option where to just only include related posts and not pages?
Could you point me in the right direction?
I have left a 5 star on CodeCanyon for your help. Thank you.
