How can I remove what seems to be a background image of the grey outline and magnifying glass in the search field area? It visually conflicts with the text and looks a bit messy?
I couldn’t see in the settings where to hide this nor any clues in css? It appears in all the themes that I looked at.Thanks, Francis

Those should not be there in the first place, it looks like some sort of a styling conflict with a 3rd party plugin or something similar.
I checked on all major browsers, but it seems to be okay on my end: https://i.imgur.com/dSFOSnK.png
Best,
May I ask what browser and operating system are you seeing the issue? Thank you!

I see this issue on Firefox and Safari (I am using an old OS.10.11)
It shows fine as your screenshot on my Chrome.
But yes I have checked on my laptop using OS10.14 and it shows correctly on all browsers. So it is not important if it’s some ‘odd’ thing around my old system.
Many thanks for your support – it’s a great plugin.
