Results with empty search field

Hi,

Just a simple question but I can’t seem to find an answer within the knowledge base.

Is there a way to stop search results from appearing once the search text field is empty.

scenario:

1) Input text “family” into the search field
2) after search results are populated, the text “family” is deleted from the search field
3) random search results populate even though the search field is empty

Is there any way to stop search results from populating when the search field is empty? I think its just pulling random results.

Hi,

Yes, it is possible of course. On the General Options -> Logics & Behaviour panel you can change the minimum number of inputted characters to trigger the search: https://i.imgur.com/JN8ZURd.png

By default it is set to 0. Change it to 1 or above, it will do the trick.
