Having issues with the search bar not showing up on all pages. We are trying to put it in the nav and it’s not working properly.

    Hi!

These issues are usually related to some form of caching. If the nav-bar where you put the search code is the same on all pages, then it’s definitely a caching problem.

Also, many navigation bars are using different javascript events to trigger drop-downs and such, which may cause unexpected issues. Combining two javascript-driven elements requires programming knowledge, please keep that in mind.
Asking the theme or navigation menu author is also a good idea, as he most likely knows the best way to implement a shortcode directly into their navition menu.

If you have more information on this, I can try helping as much as I can with the placement, but I cannot promise to implement it for you, as it’s not part of the support process.

I’m using the plugin widget in the header-right widget area, so the nav menu script shouldn’t affect it. All of the pages use this widget area, but only some display the search box properly while others either don’t display anything or just the default theme search box wrapped in the ajaxsearchpro container.

Can you please link me to a page where this is different? I browsed around the site, but I couldn’t find any.

If it’s used as a widget then I can see two possible causes:
    – The widget position does not exist on those pages, it’s not likely, but possible.
    – Or more likely the pages are cached and displaying the initial content yet

It does not sound like something with the search plugin, but I want to be sure.

    Best,
