If I search for a user of the site, for example ‘Antonio’, the result by clicking on it is empty page.

Thank you for all the details, it helps a lot!
The issue was, that the URL source of the results was set to the default profile links. I have changed that to the buddypress profile link here: https://i.imgur.com/SHCdvEJ.png
It should be fine now.
