After updating to WordPress 5.5.1 the search icon disappears from the mani navigation and search does not work. I have reverted back to the previous WordPress version.

Thank you for the report, but we are not able to replicate this issue. All of our test and live server (over 20) is running 5.5.1 and it works perfectly fine. I suspect that another plugin, theme or custom code might be causing the issue. I suggest trying to temporarily changing the theme and turning off all other plugins to make sure the issue is not caused by a 3rd party code.
