I’m trying to sort results alphabetically by title descending. I have turned off Relevance under Relevance Options but every time I load the page I get a different order of results. No combination/configuration I’ve tried so far gets me a consistent order. What could be the problem?
May 21, 2019 at 9:50 am #22782Hi!
Well I cannot tell only by looking at the front-end unfortunately. I suspect that something might be overriding the search results – usually other search plugins, grid/custom content plugins tend to do that. I cannot say for sure though. Can you please add temporary back-end and FTP details, so I can check the issue directly? Thank you!

Thank you very much! I think I was looking at the wrong configuration there. The search on the home page, in the navbar is ID=20. That still had the relevance sorting active. I have changed that to alphabetical descending: https://i.imgur.com/EexcBCv.png
I did a few tests, and the order seems to be okay now.

The random results in this case is selected from the database via randomized ordering (as that is the fastest reliable method), so it unfortunately affects the order of the results. As an alternative you could do a search for an empty phrase: https://i.imgur.com/QYF3YkQ.png
The results will not be selected at random however. With the taxonomy issue, can you please check if this option is disabled: https://i.imgur.com/FHfouEt.png
Best,
When enabled (by default), the plugin will display items that are not associated with any of the taxonomy terms.
